Mother's Day is tricky. Unlike birthdays and Christmas, this day is supposedly an appreciation day for a job that is done for us 24/7, 365. This job has no sick days, no days off, no retirement funds. And only until we're grown enough to become parents ourselves, can we truly appreciate how hard this job is.

So in a way, Mother's Day is about giving back, and the more we are grown and independent, the more a simple little gift means the world to our moms. See, the thing about a Mother's Day gift is that it has to be special, but not over the top; memorable, but not expensive. Whether you give an actual gift or an experience, you don't want to overshadow your siblings but you still want it to be sentimental and fun.

This is where we come in: Regalia by Ulti Ramos makes these unique pieces that are also affordable and have some meaning behind them. So you don't just buy your mom a piece of jewelry. You buy her an idea, or a feeling. Something for her to wear with intention.

Mother of Pearl is known as a balance and protection stone that holds the gentle healing power of the sea. It is a stress relieving stone: relaxing, soothing and calming to the emotions. Mother of Pearl stimulates our intuition, imagination, sensitivity and adaptability. It helps our emotions become more harmonious and balanced.

Beside being the symbol of femininity and the huge comeback of the trend, pearls are known for their healing energy when they come in contact with the skin. In traditional Asian medicinal systems, pearls have been used for treating ailing digestive systems, heart problems and skin issues. When you think about it, the creation of the pearl is the oyster's protection from invaders. When you look at it this way, it only makes sense.

This top seller item makes a perfect gift for mom. Heart shaped pendant with white diamond  stones, it's a cute, delicate, beautiful present that says it all. Did you know? Pearls have been getting a makeover for the past couple of years and they come out of their traditional shell with stunning new designs. Every type of pearl, from South Sea to natural baroque to Akoya is continuing to evolve with current vibes.

Recent market research done by Orbis Research found that we're only at the beginning of a long-term market trend of pearls that will last until 2025. We estimate that a big contribution for this up-going trend (at least in the jewelry market, since the research shows growth of demand for pearls also in the medical field) is top designers like the Chanel, Miu Miu and Alexander McQueen's consistent use of pearls. Karl Lagerfeld's death in February 2019 also caused media and celebrities to focus their attention around Chanel's designs even more.

Pearls have been used in jewelry for hundreds of years, and the constant look to reinvention somehow always involves this classic-magical-nature-made stone. For example, the "Neo-Parisian" style was prominent in this year's Paris Fashion Week, and with pearls that were always prominent among the French, it means that the emphasis is on tight jewelry around your neck or wrist.

From Teen Vogue to Vanity Fair - everyone is talking about pearls as the must-have jewelry item for Spring -- AND fall of 2019-2020. Vogue France lists pearl earrings among the 10 most searched wedding trends of 2019. Forbes magazine says that among this year's jewelry trends, pearls are the one jewel that translates well from runway to reality. There's also a tendency to make sure the pearls are on bare skin rather than on a dress, for a younger, fresher look. Look at supermodel Gigi Hadid in New York earlier this month, and there's no better example than Gigi to demonstrate the fashionable wearing of pearls.

Pinkvilla published an article on how to sport pearl jewelry with any outfit - inspired by Priyanka Chopra, Reese Witherspoon and other stars.

And Refinery29 says that this spring pearl jewelry is experiencing what they call 'a revival' and becoming extra fun, extra colorful, extra "extra" cute. From all of that the road to endless articles like 'Affordable Accessories That Can Transform Your Wardrobe,' is very short.

Jewelry designer Ulti Ramos says that the most important thing to make sure when you buy freshwater pearls is that the color of the pearls is identical throughout your whole piece, or pieces that you’d like to wear as a set. “It’s also important to make sure that the stringing of the pearls is done right,” he says. “It gives the the necklace or the bracelet its special shape, and also prevents all the pearls from falling and spreading on the floor if something happens and the piece gets torn."

ABOUT AMETHYST

Amethyst is the purple Semiprecious Stone, mostly originated in Brazil and Uruguay. It can be found in large clean gemstones and makes fantastic jewelry.

Amethyst is on the top of the list for must-own jewelry. It carries a high frequency that protects the energy field around it. The name “amethyst” comes from the Greek word “amethystos,” which means “sober” or “not drunken.” The ancient Greeks believed that the gemstone protected them from being drunk. To this day, you can find cups made from amethyst that were designed to protect oneself from drunkenness.

The powerful protection energy of the stone can be extremely useful for anyone working in healing professions. Those working with sick or mentally ill people will benefit as these people literally “suck” energy from you if you are not protected. Leonardo Da Vinci once wrote that amethyst quickens intelligence and gets rid of evil thoughts.

The energy of the stone boosts production of hormones, and stimulates the sympathetic nervous system and endocrine glands to optimum performance. It’s also believed to inspire courage, calm, and contemplation. In fact, Egyptian soldiers would wear amethyst in battle in order to retain their courage.
